Schar paints with oils, acrylic, soft and oil pastel, watercolor ink, gouache (opaque watercolor), and mixed mediums often incorporating sand, shell and sea glass into her paintings. She is also a notable photographer and poet. She stays active and inspired as a devoted student and dancer of hula.
Schar is published with mother Tongue ink, We’Moon Calendar since 1998. She is the co-founder of Women Artists of Kauai.
